Right, so as the title says, here's TWRP 3.0.2 For the GT-S7270 variant of this device.

Prerequisites:
A custom recovery already installed, I suggest Philz touch (Since this is a recovery flashable zip), XDA thread here
The Recovery, download here

Install Instructions:

1. Download the zip file and copy it to your SD card.
2. Reboot into recovery mode (Philz Touch in this case)
3. Go to install, find the file and accept.
4. Restart recovery
5. Ready!:D

Is your autofocus in normal camera mode(16 mp) rather slow?

Mine is. Even slower in low light no matter if the object is close or far the autofocus would lock-focus in and out couple times before it locks on the object and when the object is moving, it often miss and renders bad results. Is yours behaving the same?

I currently have a Gear S2 3G and I'll most likely upgrade to the Frontier Gear S3. My major reasons are:

Only 2G on SIM1 now

For the last two or three days, my RN3 has only been connecting to 2G networks. I understand there can be issues with this in SIM2 slot (which I experienced last week), whereas SIM1 should work fine.
Anyway, after moving the sim card from SIM2 to SIM1 last week, I enjoyed 3G networks for a few days, but now it's been on 2G only. I've tried several reboots in the meantime, and the phone was off and on as well, nothing helped. Is there any known way to resolve this? I'm running latest stable CM13 (and the only other issue since day one has been no front cam).

Able to boot into ww194 but not recovery and bootloader

Hi Masters, developers, gurus, gentlemen and women

I tried my best searching the threads but no solution.

I am able to boot into phone, surf net etc., BUT i cannot boot into bootloader and recovery.

Phone is detected as adb in Windows. I tried to adb reboot, manual volume up plus power and so on but cannot boot into bootloader or recovery. Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I lost my root now.

Ps: i was on ww194 rooted with twrp and bootloader all working. Backside itchy that i flashed latest official MM in twrp. The phone went looping for a few times and went back to twrp. So i twrp restore my phone. This is how i am strucked.

Hello everyone,

After trial and error and keep trying with lot of errors finally got this puppy working, backups 19 Partitions from your device, i don't know if the A2017 (chinese variant) have the same partition table but as far as i know and have seen the A2017U and A2017G does have the same partition table which is awesome for any Rom developers to work on things or any dev.

Steps:

1- Download the zip file from here 1CLick_Partition_Backup_v0.1

2- Decompress anywhere you want (i prefer in the root of drive C: )

3- Make sure you have enable USB-Debbuging

4- Plug your Device

4- Double Click 1click_PartitionBackup_by_DrakenFX.exe and watch the program run

5- When Done your Partition Back-up will be in you C:/a2017u_partitions_backup folder

6- DONE

This is just the beginning i may be adding more Options like Single backup or group backup.

NOTE : I'm not a savvy when comes to dev. but if i can do something that can help other do things a little easier , i'll be around :o :)

[Request] Bricked LG-K540(crickets ls775) Lg Stylo 2: Need cust. rec/stock firmware

I have the LG-K540 (lg bridge shows it as LGUK750), it's cricket's version of the LG Stylo 2 (lg ls775), and I rooted it with kingroot, used the terminal script to switch to supersu, updated binary (failed), updated supersu after it failed to update binary, and it said successful, now my phone is bricked at the cricket screen. I can factory reset, and boot to download mode, but little good that does with NO stock firmware ANYWHERE.

-LG Bridge says update available but fails right when it starts the download, packet sniffing with wireshark returns only one http request and it is a redirect from cmsg.lg... to lg.com with no url to the firmware
-No stock firmware available on ANY WEBSITE ANYWHERE..
-No custom recoveries for CWM/TWRP for either the ls775 or k540

It's absurd, there's like 10 ways I can unbrick my phone, but they require firmware, or a custom recovery, or a functioning update tool... and none of them work.

If anyone can pull the firmware for me, or point me to a custom recovery, it would be much appreciated. If I can pull the ROM or rec img from download mode, let me know and i'll post it here.

SMB/CIFS slow transfer rate

Hi,

Anyone noticed that the unrooted Note 7 transfer rate is very slow on SMB/CIFS (network sharing). Copying from a SMB server is around 200 kb/s. I usually get 3-5 mb/s on my Note 3 and Note 2 but both Note 3 and Note 2 are rooted.

A solution without rooting the phone is appreciated.

Samsung Promotion problem

So I got my phone today and the screen was defective. I have to return it and re-order a new one. Problem is now I'm outside the promotional date. T-Mobile customer service said they can make a note on my new receipt/contract, so Samsung would still honor it. I'm kind of skeptical about that, so I wanted to check in with you guys.

Do you think if I send in my original receipt/contract will it work or should I just wait till another promotion comes?

Mini freezes and sound distortion in games after MM update

Hey there peeps,

I successfully upgraded to Android M yesterday and everything is working great (including the sensors), except for two things, which are the ones in the title on the thread.
After upgrading to Marshmallow I'm experiencing mini freezes and sound distortion in games.

The mini freezes don't last for long (less than half a second), but they can still be annoying, especially since it stops the sound too.

The sound distortion problem only occurs on game SFX (game music works fine) and it ends up making a repeated sound (as if the SFX would be overlapped and a bit robotic).

Also, the sound problem takes place only when I click on stuff, same with the mini freezes, they only occur when the game is loading something after I clicked on a button/opened a menu etc., if I let the phone sit idle in the game, it works just fine, so basically interracting with the game is causing both problems.

A few more things to mention: The problem happens frequently but completely random. Also music, videos and stuff like those are working fine. This only happens in games apparently.
Games i tested this in: Girls X Battle and Bloodline: The Last Royal Vampire

I did a factory reset and same thing happens. What could be the problem?

My data and messaging are not working properly. Help?

My cellphone data is constantly "uploading" or "upstreaming" even though I'm not uploading anything which is causing my messages and data to only partially work.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

I had downloaded the most recent update from T-Mobile but my phone was fine for about a week and then this started to happen.

I tried factory resetting my phone but that didn't work.

I even rooted my phone and installed a rom but no luck.

My s5 Verizon phone could not boot well recently so today I intended to clear system cache. I hold power + volume up+home buttons, maybe somehow it entered into download mode, so it warned me that install a custom os is risky and asked me to volume up to continue, or down to cancel(restart). I volumed down and now it rebooted, but all of sudden, my data is gone! It did not ask me for screen pin/password either as previously my phone was encrypted. (Or did I held power+volumn down to factory reset the phone? But I did not get a warning for that.

This factory reset was a surprise to me as I was not warned or told that they will wipe out the data.

Anyhow, my data is gone. Now I wanted to get it back.

Can I recover data from my own encrypted s5 Verizon phone (not rooted) w/password?

I know It's not difficult if it was not encrypted, as many third party tools can recover most of the data if the phone was not used much after reset.

I am wondering if anyone has any experience recovering data for an *encrypted* phone (with right encryption password though). Which tool can do that by prompting you the password for the encrypted data?

So android and mac don't play well together. Apple doesn't allow mtp to work on mac and google have not updated their android file transfer app in ages and it's extremely buggy. What apps and methods you guys use to make your life easier? I have been using an app called handshaker, it's a decent app but still not as simple and solid as plugging your phone on windows.

Samsung Pay app on my SM-930W8 (Canada)?

I'm not sure when this happened, but apparently the Samsung Pay app appeared on my S7. The weird part is it was never there before since SP isn't available in Canada yet as far as I know. Even stranger, I just rooted...

I tried using it and it only offers me to download the complete app, which doesn't seem to work. I'm just curious if this is something I missed or some glitch..?

Problem with battery i9500 India

Please check screenshot. Before bed it was at 9% and in the morning it is 35% without charging the phone. Battery drains very quickly when I use the phone and on standby it regains few %. very weird behavior. I'm not sure, where the issue lies? I want to know what is the issue? Hardware or software? If hardware which (battery,circuit,cpu,chipset) and software then which(kernel, rom,baseband)?

Issue with TWRP and Root

since upgrading firmware from b3++ to b571 i am facing this issues
1. google translate cannot instal the downloaded language.
2. root and unroot still left leftovers which hindering some of the apk wont run even with rootcloak
3. full twrp still leave missing symlink

so i have been experimenting what are the cause, twrp or rooting

1. google translate the issue is twrp ( not sure why) even if i restore to stock bootloader, translate will not be able to install the language file.
2. rooting and unrooting will still left traces which the apk still able to trace some of the su file. rootcloack wont work with some of the apk

so the only solution is to restore the whole firmware from scratch.

my question, is anyone manage to reslove this? . i want to root and restore few things like the data/network at status bar and hide/unhide the navigation bar. the unroot back cause i need some apk that don like root like banking apk

G920R7 GSM Unlock..... Feel like I'm close....

I'm on PD1 6.0.1 with a G920R7 nTelos. I rooted using CF-Auto root, flashed TWRP for the g920p, and installed the zip file from this thread... http://ift.tt/1vynuhB

After that I installed Phone INFO ★Samsung★ and used it to access the hidden menus. Went to the 2263 menu and set all band preferences to all and selected the LTE/GSM mode only, then went to the 4636 menu and set the radio to GSM/LTE (prl) auto. I've tried GSM only and it switches back to GSM/LTE (prl) auto on its own.

I now have access to a mess of options in the network mode selection screen in settings, and setting it to GSM only and 3g only still does not allow me to catch signal. In network operators it shows AT&T, yet if you try to manually select the network it never goes through. *#0011# still shows it switching through LTE bands and not staying on one or registering on the network. In the device info screen (4636 menu) it shows the correct phone number and AT&T for current network, but under cellinfo still shows it switching between LTE bands and under GSM disconnects it shows ======DATA======.

At this point I'm not quite sure what to try next. Please let me know if anyone has any ideas to try. Thank you.

EDIT: I've also tried the G920P domestic unlock and G920R4 unlock with a box, but no luck with either as expected.

Wiko Highway Pure - Flash Kitkat Rom?

my wiko pure came with 5.0.2. but the runtime is a joke.
i downloaded and installed the official stock kitkat rom installer v16 from wiko on win7 x64 (first installed net4).

now the prog asks to push volume +- and power. then connect the phone to usb.

i ve done this from power off, from normal powered state, booted into recovery menu etc etc,
but i always get "insert the mobile phone" when pressing the download button..

any ideas how to flash this? is there an alternative way to flash the rom to the phone?

Buzzing charger plug? If you have this replace it!

and the buzzing I just witnessed with my own charger, it must be faulty.

Going to try get it replaced by HTC, hope I don't have to go through my (B2B) dealer.

This parts weird though, maybe all their plugs are faulty? - I noticed there's a top and bottom to the chargers plug, and it's not really buzzing like a bee after making sure the HTC logo is facing upwards.
It got pretty warm, about the same as my xperia z2 charger gets.. no burning smell but it could have been arcing off of a transistor or something.

Anyway if anyone else has this problem make sure you contact HTC!

my samsung gt7562 Gets Stuck At Boot Logo Then Shuts Down don't vibrate

3 Days back i successfully installed L-TOUCH custom rom on my device.Yesterday i installed swapper root configuration,swappper2 apps on my device,i reboot my phone it won't reboot strucks at samsung logo and i removed and reinsert the battery switch on it but won't on device struck at logo. i am also pressed VOLUME UP+VOLUME DOWN+HOME+POWER BUTTON and VOLUME DOWN+HOME+POWER. won't go into CWM OR DOWNLOAD mode and don't vibrate.When i plugged into charger won't charging only blank screen on and off.But when i connected to pc via usb it will connected and disconnected automatically .and also open odin it added and removed automatically
please help me how to fix it.

Samsung cloud service name?

There isn't much more to say, but I'll elaborate; using package disabler pro, I've disabled all bloatware apps. I've noticed this disables Samsung Cloud. The phone has been functioning perfectly fine, but more backups can't hurt, so I'd just like to know the name of the service used to sync data. The names in the program aren't really intuitive to tell.

Z2 ( D6503) - problems with the proximity sensor

Hello everybody :).
I'm having a problem with the proximity sensor on my z2. Every time I make a call, the screen is off, but it can't be turned back on until the call ends.
I tried to flash rom 4.4.4 (.575), on items proximity sensor calibration, but failed (error code -98). I really love my phone, and want to find some way to fix it.
Please help me if you know something. :). Thanks

[HELP]Create a task to measure how average amp charge

Hi,

I am trying to monitor how much amp my phone is being charged given a specific time.

There is a tutorial where i can use tasker to create a battery log -> http://ift.tt/2bSmm17

I can replicate this and thought can use a similar script for what i want to do. My only issue is that I can't seem to find a variable in Tasker that measures how much power my phone is receiving when charging.

Can someone help me with this? I download a few apps that measure your amps and it shows the max min amp. But nothing about avg amp.

Can't wipe/format/recover/reset to factory settings my P8000 at all

Hi guys,

I have been trying to clean my P8000 to install a new ROM and sell it, but no matter what I do, I can't.

Basically, I go into recovery mode (PhilZ), try ALL possible options on it such as "Clean to install a new ROM", "Wipe user data", "Wipe Cache", "Wipe DALVIK". Believe me, I tried it all. Even though in the menu it shows as "successful", when I reboot my phone (even if I tried the process of installing a new ROM), it reboots to the good old Cyanogen I had previously installed like nothing happened!! :confused:

Of course, I have already tried the Android option (Redefine to factory settings) and again, phone just reboots like nothing happened. :crying:

Never seen this in any phone before!

Any ideas?

[INFO] Successfully Flashed A2017G B02 to A2017U

A2017G B02 successfully flashed and booted on A2017U (using update.zip). WiFi/Bluetooth and GPS working. Only broken piece is the cellular.

There are a few more color choices in themes but no 'Android Stock' theme. And a glove mode which would likely be useful here in northern Canada.

This should be good news for development as there appears to be only the modem differentiating the ROMs.

Now to see how well I can return to A2017U :)

HTC M9W stuck in boot loop - After supersu install via twrp

I have my phone unlocked bootloader, s-off as it shows in the pick, then went to root using twrp with multpile supersu versions and non of them work, all 3 I tried even after full wipes over and over again keep booting me into the HTC logo screen non stop. Any advice?

Samsung Galaxy unlocked S7 -Sprint-SM-G930P ...need urgent help !!!!

I am need of your urgent help .

I recently bought a samsung galaxy S7 sprint UNLOCKED (SM-G930P) from Ebay . Firstly i was able to use my T-mobile sim card in it and LTE was also working well, but the inbuilt as well as other apps were crashing . The apps like Whatsapp, Inbuilt camera app and other apps were crashing and i was getting a message as "Unfortunately the app has stopped Working".

So i took my phone to Samsung service center and then they re-flashed my phone , but i was still facing the same problem.

I told them this and then they replaced the motherboard of the phone (Replaced PBA, this is what mentioned on the receipt which i got from Samsung ).
The phone is running the latest firmware and Android 6.0.1.

When i received the phone , i inserted my T-mobile sim and now the phone is saying "Invalid Sim inserted" . Now the phone is only working on Sprint Sim card. <<I am so angry on Samsung for this **** .>>> .
MOREOVER There are options missing in the settings menu such as "mobile network, hotspot and tethering, wifi calling and others." and also getting the Hands Free activation every time, but the phone does not have any sprint apps installed in the phone and no sprint logo while booting the device up.

i called the sprint service center and asked them, they said the phone is unlocked.

Please help guys , i need this to be fixed asap . I need the phone to work on different carriers.

Can you please let me know, how to check if the phone is unlocked or not , on the phone itself.

I don't want to void my phones warranty . Please help .

Advantages to IPS/LCD over Amoled panels?

Im asking this because unfortunately, im not sure if my phones screen is a defect or its burn in or screen degradation but after 6 months the bottom half of my Galaxy s7 screen is yellowish (oddly the top half is fine) and its noticeable when viewing a lot of whites (bowing the web, Instagram, twitter, Facebook, etc.) I love ny s7 to death but its too distracting, in the mean time I have T mobile jump on demand and want to give the LG G5 a go, Ive played with the phone at best buy and me personally I liked it and I thought the display was nice and not so over saturated.

My question really is what are the biggest pros of IPS/LCD over Amoled? I heard IPS doesnt burn in but does have "ghosting", but other then that what advantages do it have as everyone seems to love Amoled (I do love amoled and I think my phone has a defect nothing to do with Amoled but who knows)

possible to extend edge panel?

coming from the note 4 edge to the note 7 I have grown accustomed to an actual edge panel and miss it greatly. i cant stand that i have to choose a specific location for the panel to reside rather than being able to swipe from anywhere...

i have already increased the size to its max so i know it shouldnt be more than a few lines of code to make it even larger... but how possible is it?

something that xpose could tackle or would the bootloader need to be unlocked with a modded ROM?

Is it possible to change my o+o identification so my isp see it as a router ?

Hi all
Yesterday I got a new data simcard with unlimited 4g plan, the only bad thing is it works only with routers, I tried it on my o+o and I got a msg from my isp states that this offer only works on routers.
My question is it possible to change my phone identification so my isp read it as a router instead of a cellphone ?
I know how to change my imei through Xposed but will it work ?

Come back and get $300?

Hello friends. My Sprint account is going to be cancelled on the 5th of next month. I was with sprint last 10 years and I wanted to leave and see some other networks. So yesterday I received an email from sprint and it says plz come back and we'll give you $300 each line you reconnect! I just shocked because that's huge offer. I have 10 lines so 10 X 300 =3000?? So my question is what they mean reconnect because I'm still with sprint. One more week left until my account completely canceled. Do I ahve to still leave and then port the numbers back? Music Controls in Lock Screen?

Hi.
The stock music player has lockscreen controls accessible without tapping the notification bell, and the album cover appears as the lockscreen background.
However, these features are not available when using other music apps like Spotify and Pandora, which makes skipping a track very annoying since it requires tapping the notification bell. I could care less about the album art in the lockscreen, judt thought I should point it out.
Does anyone know a way to make the spotify or pandora act as the stock music app to get controls in the lock screen? Thanks.

Fix for VOLTE Marshmallow MIUI

Last night one of my friend told me about this. So i tried and found it working. All credits to him to discover this, i am just sharing.

Things required:
1. Redmi note 3 with bootloader unlock and TWRP recovery
2. Any Marshmallow MIUI rom
3. Firmware zip

Steps:
1. Unlock bootloader officially/unofficially and flash twrp by fastboot.
2. Download the firmware zip and rom and place them in internal/external sd.
3. Flash the firmware zip first and then the rom.
4. Reboot.

is there a way to mirror my android phone screen on windows pc without internet connection and in fullscreen too(not a small phone mockup showing my screen)?

i am rooted and running android 4.4.4.

i want to use squid notes app on my phone to be displayed in fullscreen on windows pc for drawing diagrams and illustration for presentation in class.

is there any such software to do it.

please dont suggest windows software. my laptop doesnt have touchscreen and drawing with mouse is really annoying and incomprehensible .

Kindle Fire 1st Gen Fastboot Cable Different?

I accidentally made a mistake that some have made. Have TWRP installed, followed a tutorial to flash stock, but then accidentally wiping /system, /cache, and pretty much most of the partitions.

I still can run adb commands. But shell does not work( "system/bin/sh": No such file or directory) since /system is wiped.
On the thread, there are many helpful comments, most suggested using a fastboot cable and reflash a recovery. I just purchased this cable here:

And the seller informed me it only works on the Kindle Fire 2 and Kindle Fire HD. Is there anything different for the fastboot cable for the 1st generation kindle fire and the 2nd gen? Sure, you could say I should just buy another Kindle Fire, but its more the experience of unbricking a 4 year old kindle.

Boot loop, can't up new rom, helpppppp!

I'm using p601, after rooted i used titanium removed some samsung apps the reboot. The tablet keep looping at boot logo.
When i tried up new rom from sd card there's 2 errors
- footer is wrong
- signature verification failed

Moto G3 Root Jio Calling Problem Solved for me

Hii guys...iam found a solution for making calls on jio jio through rooted moto g3...iam using cyanogen mod 13 ...but there is no calling facility... Iam tried most of the ROM but everyrom disable feature...iam flashed moto g3 customized 6.0 ROM it shows volte flag..but can't make calls...so iam tried at last moto g3 5.1 stock customized Verizon... Iam so worried about downgrading to 5.1.. Successfully downgraded without any issue...flashed zip through recovery mode without computer... Wipe all without internal and external through advanced wipe..and install zip from internal memory... Iam downgraded to 5.1 without any issue..Volte flag came and make calls..but not hear voice( ringing) but after taking calls I can hear voice successfully... Iam very happy..try this trick with your own risk iam not responsible for anything... Download link of ROM I will update soon...Note this is only for Indian XT550 Verizon

Amending DPI On Device...

Well heres one for the books.

I set my DPi to 400 on the device. Went to put it into power saving mode and it changed the screen density to HD which is fine.
However with the Small condensed option selected under display, it now prevents ANY system modifications to the DPI settings which is actually insane! :/

Any ideas on a work around? Im rooted and even amending the Build.prop and using an app seems to kill getting a lower DPI settting

I have this problem with my Note 7, with TWRP installed and SuperSU but everything else stock. People can ring me and I can hear them but they can't hear me talking back.

Any help appreciated please.

MIUI flavour without China connection possible?

Hi all,

Sorry if this question has been asked (by me or others) - I can't fins a simple answer, so I'm trying again.

Is there any way to have sMIUI/MIUI/Xiaomi EU ROM without ANY connection to China servers/Mi accounts etc? Not just removal of the apps, but the platform, independent of connecting to servers and identifying the device through activation etc?

Or, is running a custom ROM (CM/AOSP/BlissPop etc) the only way?

I would like to run MIUI but not have it sending data to yet another bunch of servers (Google is enough for me).

I think it is a straightforward question but cannot seem to get a simple answer...please?

bricked galaxy s7 edge

I rooted my galaxy s7 edge (snapdragon) and everything was fine and working except I couldn't get SuperSU to install properly. I would get the app screen, but nothing else. A couple of apps would show up (Root Checker, Flashfire) after I had run them but I didn't get the typical SU screen with settings. I'm not including the softwares used (I did have debugging enabled in Develper options on the phone, secure boot unchecked, and the correct Samsung USB drivers installed) because I don't think it's relevant to my question - if not so, let me know and i'll be glad to provide the info - I'm a newbie at this so please bear with me). I read about the warning to not update the 2.74 version of SuperSU but then I saw the update beta for 2.77 so I tried that. It appeared to run ok; I could see all the commands being executed and then ending and then the phone rebooted, as it's suppose to do. This is when the problem emerged; a screen came up saying "start up failed" and at the top left of the screen it said 'Custom binary blocked by secure boot (boot.img). I rebooted to TWRP recovery mode and tried rebooting which again resulted in the start up failure screen. I then tried the wipe data\factory reset setting and the same thing happened. I then booted to maintenance mode and got the warning screen about a custom OS installation can cause problems but if you want to proceed press volume up key which I did and got the usual Downloading page. At the top of the Downloading page I noted it said, among other identifying info: Odin mode (high speed), FRP lock: off, QUALCOMM Secure Boot: enable, and Secure Download: enable.
But, when connecting the usb cable to the phone and pc, my computer (Win 10) doesn't even see it. Not sees and doesn't recognize, but doesn't even see it. I tried a second USB cable and different ports but got the same results. I tried a second computer and got the same thing.
I am guessing that if I could still access the phone to run rooting apps I could get past the lock. If not now, maybe later on when someone figures our a way to do so. But without a working connection to the phone I am helpless. I am wondering if Verizon disables USB intentionally, so that the phone essentially becomes useless. Or, is it a coincidence and perhaps there is something wrong with the usb hardware.
Is there a way out of this other than having to pay for it to be fixed (which Samsung won't do - I called - and maybe Verizon not either).

On my Note 4 I was able to use this code to boost the power of my Wi-Fi and change my LTE / GSM or CDMA settings. Anybody know how to access this menu with the Note 7 it doesn't seem to be working through the dialer with Verizon.

5GHZ Wifi hotspot?

Im using a F320S running CloudyG2 2.2 rom, and wanting to run a 5ghz wifi hotspot on it to do ftp faster
The problem is I cant start the hotspot if I choose 5ghz in advanced option, 2.4ghz work but very slow (8mbps maximum in my experience)
Is there any way to fix this problem or which rom support it? :)

Updated to 7.0. Phone app not working.

I updated to 7.0, everything was fine now my phone does not work. I can't hear on my end, and the other person can't hear me either. I tried putting it on speaker, and rebooting. Nothing works. Has anyone else had this problem or know what could be wrong?

Need help to flash stock rom

Hello,

I have just recently been approached by my friend who had his mobile [HTC Desire 626] infected with the "Porn Virus" which caused pop ups and installed applications and slowed the mobile down, in an attempt to rid the virus he ended up deleting some system files, including but not limited to the home button function and some feature that shows the memory occupied by an app in the setting > applications tab. A Factory Default Reset does not get rid of this virus nor does it fix the damage he caused to the system files.

He came to me for help and i have no idea how to flash or root. I have read loads of guides over the years and i haven't yet found a way to make it work, on account that my Xperia got destroyed in a road accident, most of the guides ask me to go into the Hboot menu but i am not able to access this menu with the Power + Volume Down shortcut. The fix for this is to turn off Fast Boot in the Power option in settings but this option is not visible to me in settings. Another fix is to remove the battery and power up the phone with volume down button held, this is not possible with the HTC Desire 626 as the back is i believe glued to the battery.

So basically what i am asking for is a way to flash a stock/custom ROM onto my friends mobile to fix the damage he caused and to eradicate the virus. I have a concern which is that i read in a couple forums that it is possible to get the mobile to go into a Hard Brick if i install the wrong Radio/Carrier. Looking at the many ROM's provided in the HTC support, my carrier is not listed, another forum suggested that it is possible to flash a ROM excluding the Radio, i would like to know if this is possible and how.

Ps. I see forums with HTC Desire 626s but no HTC Desire 626.

Android 6.0.1 Camera roll issue.

Hey, i downloaded [ROM][UNOFFICAL][6.0.1]Resurrection Remix OS[5.7.0] onto my Honor 5x KIW-L21 and i seem to not be able to use the camera roll option which prevents me from using the back camera.
P.S. The roll feature works fine on other apps like Snapchat which i thought was pretty strange, just the standard camera that aint functioning properly.

Has anybody got any information of why this is and even better a fix?

STK issue

I recently purchased a galaxy note 2 E250K phone. But it seems like there is either a software issue, or probably it is still locked

- everytime i boot up the phone, i get that annoying OLLEH logo (instead of the galaxy logo)
- when i try and access my vm from the number pad, the number 1 button does not have that voicemail icon, that indicates its a VM button, in addition, when i press and hold the 1 button, it asks me to create a speed dial, not enter the VM number
- when someone calls me, and i reject the call, it hangs up on them, not forward them to the VM
- i have some apps still show korean language, even though i changed the language to english
- i called my cell phone network provider, they have reset my account 6 times, no help

Any ideas of what can be done?

I was told that my phone could be still locked by a contract from the KT mobile provider in Korea

i am in a desperate state right now, since i have been looking for solution for a month now, and i cant find any.

Is there anything i can do here?

How to fix a hard break XiaoMi Mi4 i

When update to MIUI 8 the phone restart then it wont boot up. I update via fastboot. I already send to XiaoMi center they say they also cannot reflash the rom need to put there and maybe need to change the mother board. By this cost I can buy another new phone so is there any way to fix the XiaoMi Mi4i ?

USB Type C Headphones

Hi all,

I was just curious if anyone has tried to use a pair of USB Type C headphones with the Verizon G5 or if they know if it works with it. I purchased a really really cheap type c to 3.5mm adapter and it did not work, but I don't know if the adapter is bad or it the phone doesn't support the type c audio.

Double tap to wake stopped working

My phone hanged and restarted when playing a game, and now double rap to wake isn't working. I rebooted several times and turned of auto brightness but that didn't help. It used to work fine! Double tap to sleep works though. Please help me.

The next K3 note

Now, since Lenovo DEVs have stopped updating roms for k3 note and as our devices age, pretty soon we might to start searching for new mobile. So which phones are on your radar. It would be difficult to good replacement in this price range, I feel.
Is K5 note a worthy successor ? In my opinion chipset wise is not much of an upgrade and it also doesn't seem to support volte :(

[Help] Galaxy S 6 G920W8 stuck on SAMSUNG logo during boot

So I have a samsung Galaxy S 6 (G920W8) that I cannot get to boot into Android.

I was able to get the device into recovery and download mode, and I'm able to install TWRP on the device, boots into that with zero problems.

I've been able to use TWRP to install custom ROMs and kernels, and I can use an older version of ODIN to flash the correct carrier ROM to the phone, but newer version fail on the NAND WRITE step. TWRP gives no errors when attempting to flash, and I have access to the whole memory of the device.

Is there any hope for this device?

Failure to install TWRP ROM [Samsung Galaxy S4 Active]

So I have been trying to install a custom recovery on my rooted phone, I am on 5.0.1 or 5.1.1 not sure at the exact moment but when I go to install TWRP Odin mode I believe it is, is stopping me from continuing so the device is just sitting at "Downloading... Please do not turn off the target". I attempted multiple different flash APKs (Because I don't have a computer). I did see another post with someone who has the same problem (not sure if he used a PC) but this is very annoying. Can someone please assist me?

I am making sure my device is rooted, I have the proper version for my device I just need to use this to install Xposed installer on my phone, but again, no PC access..

Touch not working properly..

Hi guys,
I have Moto e 1st gen phone.. I rooted it and used all rooted benefits up to my knowledge..
Then recently I installed CM 13 ROM which is downloaded from its website..from then my phone touch is not working properly. I used to play some games in past when I reinstalled back my touch doesn't working properly.. My keypad key places changed.. Ex: if I want to click on 'S' I need to click on 'X' ..
Everything else working good except this touch problem.. Yesterday night I installed new update surprisingly all other touch places working good except my back and home and minimize buttons.. If I click back button my home button will pressed and if I press home button its pressing minimize button.. Now what to do..please solve this problem.. Thanks in advance.

Issues with navigation prompts and the Audiofocus feature

This issue isn't exclusive to the Oneplus 3 but I had this issue on my OnePlus One as well.

To keep it simple my issue is that when I get a navigation prompt or a notification, the feature that allows my music to get turned down is delayed by a second or 2.

For example i'll be driving with soundcloud and Google Maps on. As I get a navigation prompt the music will continue playing at full volume as the directions are being given and after 2 seconds the music is turned down. After the navigation prompt has ended the music won't go back to normal volume until an extra 2 seconds have passed.

I have had this issue for a few months now and even after switching phones and roms. Not sure what is causing this issue and I haven't been able to find anyone else online with this same issue.

Any insight on my situation would be greatly appreciated.

I have FRP lock and dm-verity verification (DRK) failed i have no idea what to do:(

I can only install stock/official firmwares but any of them boot because of drk/dm-verity verification,
i cant use OTG,
i already try to install stock witout cache.img ,
I use to fix drk whit root but i cant install it becouse i have frp lock.. :( and I use to fix FRP Installing Stock Whitout cache.img but it doesnt work this time....
Last time i was using Windows 10, now im using Windows 8 ( Can this be the problem? )also Im using Odin 3.12.3
Im downloading an old firmware right now, help me please :)

Touch Screen Issues After Kernel Flash

Hello Guys,

So I have a Note 5 (Canadian/W8). The phone has been pretty good so far. I like trying out new roms and stuff. I flashed the CrissCross Rom with SkyHigh MM Kernel and the audio fix... used that for a couple of days when I started noticing some lag and unresponsiveness from the touchscreen. So I decided to factory reset it from Kies... after I did that, the phone's screen has become completely unresponsive... It works 1/10 times if I keep locking turning the screen on and off. But when it does work 1/10 times... it works perfectly without any issues.

However, the stylus continues to work perfectly and the phone works alright with the stylus. So then I tried taking it back to its working settings when it was working. So I flashed the SICK AS HELL rom with SkyHigh kernel and the screen started working but the phone's performance seems compromised still.

So now my phone only works with the SkyHigh MM kernel... what could it possibly be?
It is clearly a kernel issue...

Any help is appreciated. I dont want to be locked down to just one kernel. I would like to have a stock working phone.

Note 7 Snapdragon vs Exynos

I have always used smartphones with a Snapdragon in them and been waiting a long time for a decent Note to come out to upgrade my S4. I have heard a mixed bag in regards to Snapdragon and Exynos from various review sites and reading peoples comment. Some say SD820 runs hot during gaming, some say Exynos throttles a lot during gaming while others say the SD produce better sound and the Exynos is not optimized well.

So I thought the best place to find out for sure is from XDA. To set the scene, I mainly be using the Note 7 for music, gaming and watching anime. Performance and battery life is the main things I am looking for, anyone able to comment on personal experience with the variant they have or really know your stuff in regards to the variants, would be much appreciated.

htc desire is stuck on logo (maybe bricked). need help reinstalling the stock rom !

i was trying to root my htc desire 820s dual sim.
i unlocked the bootloader and installed the superuser.zip through recovery.
after installation i rebooted the device and it got stuck on the white htc logo screen .
i tried factory reset, tried to wipe cache, but it wont budge.
please help.

and it would be really great it you can suggest me to keep my device rooted after installing the ROM.

how to check the cid on your s5 verizon without root

You need to accept USB debugging always prompt and access to a computer that is all that is needed

Go to Getex kk-mm bootloader unlock thread on XDA under s5 verizon forum

Use method 3 adb method and
Follow it until you get to step where it says pull cid this is your current cid that is being copied to a viewable text file on your phone

look at text file

if starts with 15 congratulations you can unlock your boot loader

If it says 11 unfortunately you can't unlock your bootloader
