Google is Sending Out Home Mini Promo Codes for Pixel 2 Pre-orders

The Pixel 2 XL, which launched alongside the Pixel 2 on October 4, starts at $850. That's higher than the Pixel XL's starting price of $770, and makes the Pixel 2 XL one of the most expensive Android phones on the market. To help take the sting out of the price tag, Google promised free Home Mini speakers for pre-orders of the Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 2, a $49 value.

It seems the wait for those codes is finally over. We've received reports that email codes are beginning to appear in Pixel buyers' inboxes.

Pre-order customers in every launch country (with the exception of India) are eligible for a free Home Mini, which Google said would come in the form of a redeemable Google Store code. If you pre-ordered the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL and haven't received a code, check your spam folder. If you use Gmail, it might be in the Promotions tab.

Google Home Mini Pre-order Promo Code

The Google Home Mini, you might recall, is an AI-equipped smart speaker that retails for $49. It boasts a 360-degree speaker that's loud enough to project the Google Assistant's responses around a room, and it has a Voice Match feature that personalizes responses to questions based on who's interacting with it.

Unfortunately, the Home Mini isn't perfect. A hardware bug with the speaker's capacitive button, which originally allowed users to trigger the Assistant with a tap, caused some Home Mini units to record sound continuously. Google eventually disabled the button via a software update.
