Samsung Gear VR is a virtual reality headset that officially only works with a handful of Samsung Galaxy flagship phones. However, if developers modify their ROMs with the appropriate privileged system applications and include a few lines in their build.prop file, they can get Samsung Gear VR working on other flagship devices with a 1440p screen. For that reason, XDA Recognized Developer dc13 has put together an archive of all the files as well as a read-me file containing the build.prop lines developers will need to add to their ROMs in order to get Samsung Gear VR working.
Note that this is NOT a flashable zip file, but instead contains apps that need to be installed to /system/priv-app and a text file with the requisite build.prop files. Tell your favorite developers about this if you want Samsung Gear VR support in your ROM!
