Does rooting allow unstoppable Tethering?

Hi there. I have the Amazon R1 HD device, and excited to root this.

I believe Simple Mobile/Tmobile doesn't allow tethering by default, or at least not fo rme and my plan. But I was wondering if by rooting my device, I can indeed tether my mobile data ? If I need an app or something outside of simply rooting, if someone can point me in the direction?
